Frequently Asked Questions

What does WatchMyCalendar cost?

The Free tier is free to use, permanently. Plus costs €2.99 and Pro €4.99, each a one-time purchase — no subscription. Pricing is a cumulative upgrade path: if you buy Plus first and Pro later, you only pay the difference (€2.00), not the full Pro price again. See thetiers page for what each tier includes.

Can I try Plus or Pro before buying?

Yes — Plus and Pro each come with a 14-day free trial, startable independently of one another, no payment method required. If the trial runs out without a purchase, the app automatically falls back to Free — nothing gets charged automatically.

Can I sync my Outlook calendar?

Yes — WatchMyCalendar mirrors whatever calendars are in your phone's Android calendar storage to the watch. Outlook keeps its calendar inside its own app by default, so you first have to let it write to the device calendar:

Then open WatchMyCalendar → Settings → Calendars, enable the Outlook calendar (the main one is usually just called "Calendar"), and let it sync. On work or school accounts this may behave differently or be unavailable, depending on the mobile-device policies your organization's admins have set.

I use iCloud (or another CalDAV calendar) — why are my events missing on the watch?

WatchMyCalendar mirrors every calendar in your phone's Android calendar storage. Some calendar apps, however, sync iCloud or CalDAV only into their own internal database and don't pass the events on to Android — then neither WatchMyCalendar nor any other app or widget can see them.

The fix: sync the calendar with an app that writes to Android's calendar storage, such as DAVx⁵ (open source, on the Play Store and F-Droid). For iCloud you'll need an app-specific password (appleid.apple.com → Sign-In and Security → App-Specific Passwords). You can keep using your current calendar app — just don't also connect iCloud there directly, or events will show up twice.

The watch doesn't show any events — what now?

The watch doesn't read any calendars itself — all events come from the phone. So WatchMyCalendar needs to be installed on both devices, and the phone app has to be opened once after installing: only then does Android let it sync in the background, and that's also where you grant the calendar permission. After that, syncing runs automatically, even after the phone restarts.

Which watches are supported?

WatchMyCalendar runs on watches with Wear OS 3 or newer, paired with an Android phone (Android 8 or newer). iPhones aren't supported. So far I've only tested it myself on the OnePlus Watch 4 — other Wear OS watches should work, but I can't guarantee it.

Which languages is the app available in?

WatchMyCalendar is available in English, German and French — on both the phone and the watch. The app follows each device's system language; for any other language it falls back to English.

French was added in version 1.4.1. If you spot an awkward or wrong phrase in any of the languages, I'd be glad to hear about it throughFeedback. This website is only available in English and German for now.

I have a Wear OS device with Google Calendar support — why would I ever need this?

If Google Calendar already covers what you need, you honestly don't need WatchMyCalendar. It's built for people whose calendars don't live (only) on Google — synced through DAVx5 or other providers, for example — who have everything on the phone's calendar storage but no way to get it onto the watch.
